About the event

We are honored to welcome Abuela Viola Ocelocihuatl, Mexica grandmother, artisan, Moon Dancer, Sun Dancer, and visionaria, for a special drum making circle at Casa Siento.

In this gathering, we will come together to create our own drum by hand — an instrument of prayer, connection, and ancestral remembrance.

The drum carries the heartbeat of the Earth. It teaches us to listen, to return to rhythm, and to remember the living wisdom that has been carried through song, ceremony, and tradition.

Abuela Viola has been a Moon Dancer since 2002, dancing in different countries, and is a grandmother and guide of the Danza de Luna Ollin Tlahui Ocelometztli in Teotihuacan. As a professional artisan since 1998, she has shared workshops in the creation of pre-Hispanic instruments around the world, preserving and sharing ancestral tradition through art and teaching.

This circle is an invitation to make your drum with intention, prayer,…
